Tatjana Sandhöfer is a multi-instrumentalist, music educator and artist. She discovered her talent early on when she received her first saxophone lessons at age 10. In the following years, she expanded upon her means of creative expression, taking ballet lessons as well as teaching herself to play the flute. She participated in many competitions, including the german national music competition "Jugend Musiziert", winning multiple awards and prizes.
She played in various chamber ensembles and orchestras, including the National Youth Orchestra of Germany, participating in trips to Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao, Zürich, Mailand and Florence.
Tatjana began her professional career as a student at the University of Cooperative Education Darmstadt (Germany), being taught by Jan Schulte-Bunert (saxophone) and Annegret Lucke (flute). She deepened her knowledge in all of her instruments through engagements in her first musical theatre productions, especially concerning the piccolo, alto flute, clarinet and bass clarinet. After finishing her bachelor’s degree with top grades, she added music pedagogy as an additional emphasis in a masters course at the Academy of Music Lübeck (Germany), which she finished with distinction as well. Tatjana concluded her studies with another masters degree with distinction at Trinity Laban Conservatoire London, where she studied “Reed Theatre Doubling” generously supported through scholarships of Trinity College London, Leverhulme Trust and Henry Wood Accommodation Trust.
Outside of her studies she has taken the positions of director and musical director in musical theatre productions. She has written a musical (The Girl in the Mirror, 2019) and a film (Artist.I.Friend, 2020) herself, in which both she played the leading role during the original productions.
